Hitch bed rails

Are the bed rails for fifth wheel hitches usually a standard distance apart? Meaning does every brand of 5th wheel hitch have a specific footprint?
Thanks!

RE: 5th Wheel hitch rail question

Thanks for the replies. The rails go across the bed, fender to fender.
I'm going to check out the Reese website and see if I can view the installation instructions for the rails. I don't know why I didn't think of that sooner!

5th Wheel hitch rail question

Hello all,
Hopefully in a matter of weeks, I'll be moving over from the travel trailer forum to the 5th wheel forum :B.
The previous owner of my truck towed a 5th wheel. In the truck bed, the hitch rails are still mounted. Is there any way to tell what hitch will fit these rails if all I know are the mounting dimensions? The rails are mounted about 21 - 3/4 inches from center to center, and they are 43 inches in length. They look exactly like the rails used for reese hitches in the camping world catalog, but I know I can't go by that. (I took pictures also)
If these dimensions sound familiar to anyone, please let me know. I will definitely need to buy a hitch, and if I can buy one that will mount to my existing rails, that would be sweet.
Thanks for your help!
Peter
